A circus lion named Mufasa endured a life of captivity for two decades. Confined to the back of a pickup truck, he lived in harsh conditions as part of a traveling circus in Peru. Despite his suffering, his life took a hopeful turn when he was rescued by Animal Defenders International in 2015. Mufasa’s plight highlights the ongoing mistreatment of animals in entertainment venues like circuses and zoos.
