President-elect Donald Trump has selected his press secretary and it came as a shock to many who were watching the sweepstakes.
On Friday the president-elect picked campaign spokeswoman Karoline Leavitt to serve in the position of White House Press Secretary.
“Today, the 45th and 47th President of the United States Donald J. Trump announced that Karoline Leavitt will serve as White House Press Secretary. Karoline was the Trump Campaign National Press Secretary and previously served in the Trump White House as Assistant Press Secretary,” he said in a press release.
“Karoline Leavitt did a phenomenal job as the National Press Secretary on my Historic Campaign, and I am pleased to announce she will serve as White House Press Secretary. Karoline is smart, tough, and has proven to be a highly effective communicator. I have the utmost confidence she will excel at the podium, and help deliver our message to the American People as we, Make America Great Again,” he said.
And the new campaign manager responded to the announcement on X, formerly Twitter.
“Thank you, President Trump, for believing in me. I am humbled and honored. Let’s MAGA!” she said.
The news came after a series of announcements on who would be in his administration that have rocked DC.
He also announced his intention to nominate Robert F. Kennedy Jr. for the position of Secretary of Health and Human Services.
“For too long, Americans have been crushed by the industrial food complex and drug companies who have engaged in deception, misinformation, and disinformation when it comes to Public Health,” Trump wrote on Thursday.
“The Safety and Health of all Americans is the most important role of any Administration, and HHS will play a big role in helping ensure that everybody will be protected from harmful chemicals, pollutants, pesticides, pharmaceutical products, and food additives that have contributed to the overwhelming Health Crisis in this Country,” the president-elect continued.
“Mr. Kennedy will restore these Agencies to the traditions of Gold Standard Scientific Research, and beacons of Transparency, to end the Chronic Disease epidemic, and to Make America Great and Healthy Again!”
According to a source familiar with the decision who spoke to Politico, Trump’s appointment is expected to upset many public health experts. Trump promised Kennedy he would have full autonomy over health and food policy in his administration after Kennedy ended his presidential campaign and endorsed the now-president-elect.
Trump assured Kennedy that he could “go wild” with health and food policy once he withdrew from the race to support the incoming president.
Pro-Trump businessmen Elon Musk and Vivek Ramaswamy have officially joined Trump’s incoming administration, according to a statement from the president-elect.
Trump announced in a statement on Tuesday that the two would jointly lead the newly established Department of Government Efficiency. Both Ramaswamy and Musk were vocal throughout Trump’s campaign about the need to reduce the size and power of the federal government.
“I am pleased to announce that the Great Elon Musk, working in conjunction with American Patriot Vivek Ramaswamy, will lead the Department of Government Efficiency [DOGE],” Trump wrote on his Truth Social platform.

‘DOGE’ is also a cryptocurrency that Musk has often promoted.
“Together, these two wonderful Americans will pave the way for my Administration to dismantle Government Bureaucracy, slash excess regulations, cut wasteful expenditures, and restructure Federal Agencies,” Trump added in his statement.
The Department of Government Efficiency is not a new government agency. Trump said it will “provide advice and guidance from outside of government” and “partner” with the White House and Office of Management and Budget to drive structural government reform, ABC News reported.
“‘This will send shockwaves through the system, and anyone involved in Government waste, which is a lot of people!’ stated Mr. Musk,” the statement continued.
