Over the years, the internet has been flooded with countless “spooky” images, ranging from alleged sightings of Bigfoot to mysterious flying saucers in the sky and eerie apparitions in old, rundown homes. While many of these images can be easily explained away as camera glitches or Photoshop manipulations, there are some that defy logical explanation.
One such instance involves Kay Borleis, a runner who stumbled upon a rather unsettling detail in a photo taken during her 100-mile run through the Hawaiian rainforest. Though the thought of enduring such a grueling physical challenge may seem unfathomable to some, the focus here lies on the eerie discovery in the image.
During the Hawaiian Ultra Running Team’s Trail 100-Mile Endurance Run in 2019, Kay was accompanied by her friend Cassie, who served as her pacer and captured photos along the way. One of these photos depicted Kay navigating a muddy trail in the heart of the jungle. However, upon closer inspection, Kay noticed something chilling.
To the left of her head in the photo, there appeared to be a dark figure dressed in tattered clothing, seemingly observing her as she ran. Kay was adamant that there was no one else present at the time, ruling out the possibility of a passing hiker or statue.
Upon sharing the photo on Reddit, Kay recounted the legend of the Night Marchers, ghostly Hawaiian warriors said to roam the island. These spectral beings, according to legend, bring violent ends to any mortal who dares to gaze upon them. Some believe that lying prostrate before them may offer protection from their wrath.
